In my field of work as a teacher, I must be very cautious about the things I say and due outside of work. I am currently working in a child care center in a very well-known area. I do not currently live in the same city as I work in, because of how frequent I used to see clients from my school when I did live in the same city. Just going to the grocery store, restaurants or even the park, I would see some of the children and their families which attend my school. Recently at work I was promoted to bus driver. My supervisor asked to run my driving record and an update background check. I know other teacher whom have been asked to become a driver but were not allow to because of their driving record and even in some cases DUI’s. I have recently seen my supervisors profile on Facebook; I am not her friend on Facebook due to amount of privacy I would like in our relationship. I have a private account so nobody can see my profile without being my friend. I don’t want my supervisor or even strangers to know current things I due in life, like every time I go to the movies or even going out for the night. Some people may need to be monitored if they have negative behavior like stealing, abuse, drug and alcohol problems, or even an overall reckless life style. All employees of any form of work should be cautious about any of the things they do in and outside of work. They must make important decisions and think if this is or isn’t the right to do based on the utilitarianism theory (Mosser, 2013). From the supervisors point of view they can train employees to make the right choices because they are being monitored by everyone (Wright, 2006).
